The Gap Identified
People often forget disasters once the news cycle ends, leaving behind only statistics, not stories. I realized there was a missing bridge between what people see and what victims actually live through.
How I Discovered It
When the floods hit, my family lived through them, but it’s the recurring fear every monsoon that made me realize how lasting these experiences truly are.
Talking to survivors of the 2018 Kerala floods made me realize that their pain was not just in what they lost, but in how quickly the world moved on. Their stories deserved more than passing sympathy.
What I created:
I built a VR space that turns stories of loss and survival into lived experiences, allowing people to see, feel, and understand the human side of disasters beyond statistics and headlines.
